Learn and Practice ACT: Integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Into Your Practice

Mr. Gordon, an expert ACT trainer, will dive into the theoretical underpinnings of ACT, including Relational Frame Theory (RFT), and guide participants in applying ACT’s model of psychological flexibility to case conceptualization and treatment planning. Mr. Gordon will emphasize evidence-based strategies to empower clinicians in creating meaningful therapeutic change and immediately integrate ACT principles into clinical practice. 

About the Presenter

Timothy Gordon, MSW, RSW, is a social worker, ACT trainer, international presenter and author. Tim has a mission to offer evidence-based counselling to help others live full and abundant lives. He specializes in working with attachment and trauma issues, including children and adolescents who have suffered abuse. He is the co-author of The ACT Approach: A Comprehensive Guide for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (PESI, 2017); The ACT Deck: 55 Acceptance & Commitment Therapy Practices to Build Connection, Find Focus and Reduce Stress (PESI, 2017); The Acceptance & Mindfulness Toolbox for Children & Adolescents (PESI, 2019), Mindful Yoga-based Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (New Harbinger, 2019) as well as the Coping Skills for Trauma Deck (PESI, 2019). He was an instructor of the Clinical Behavioral Sciences program, where he taught ACT at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Tim now practices independently seeing clients and offering supervision online and in person. As Tim presents ACT workshops worldwide, he is renowned for his passion and experiential approach to training professionals.
