Session 1 on Tuesday, December 3, 2:00pm-3:30pm ET

Drs. Osborn and Pereira are going to start with an overview of what forensic psychology is, how it’s defined, when you are operating in a forensic role versus providing treatment in a forensic setting, how it’s different than clinical psychology, and discuss ethical issues within forensic practice. They will then discuss different types of common civil and criminal forensic evaluations and then more information on competency to stand trial and mental status at the time of the offense evaluations. They plan to wrap up with a case presentation of a sanity evaluation.

Session 2 on Tuesday, December 10, 2:00pm-3:30pm ET

Drs. Osborn and Pereira will provide a lot of broad and specific information regarding the training trajectory from doctoral programs through postdoc fellowships, experiences to try and obtain and settings to work in, licensure, board certification, and different settings you can work post education. They will discuss core competencies for practice and an overview of the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychology, and end with self-care/consultation and life-long learning.

To qualify for the certificate, you must attend both sessions either live or archived. Certificates will be emailed to eligible attendees after both sessions have occurred.

Separate Zoom invites will be sent the week of each session. If you are unable to attend a session, you may cancel via your Zoom invite.

This program is not offered for continuing education.
